Border Stimulus funding workshop to take place

 

An information workshop about the recently announced €28 million Border Economic Stimulus Fund is to take place in Cavan next week.

The event will take place at the Hotel Kilmore next Monday, January 13.

The package, which applies to counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, and Louth is designed to drive enterprise activity in the region and ensure that businesses have additional support in mitigating the impact of Brexit.

This is the first time the Department for Business, Enterprise and Innovation has provided targeted, ringfenced funding to the Border area.

Representatives from Enterprise Ireland, the Local Enterprise Office and Science Foundation Ireland will be in attendance on the day to brief businesses on the various aspects of the stimulus package.

 

The €28 million Border Economic Stimulus Package includes:

 

To help stakeholders investigate the viability of potential projects and prepare final submissions for consideration for the €15m Border Enterprise Development Fund, Competitive Feasibility Funding is also available. This will be a grant of €15,000 or 50% of eligible costs, whichever is lesser, available to eligible applicants.

 

The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys, has encouraged businesses in attend the Cavan information workshop.

She described it as a “golden opportunity” for businesses in the border region, saying: “I want to ensure that Cavan businesses get the maximum benefit out of this funding.”
