Mix of bright spells and scattered showers

Weather update from Met Éireann

This morning, any mist and fog patches will clear. There will be a mix of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers for the rest of the day, with some heavy showers possible. The best of the sunny spells will develop in the evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in near calm conditions.

Tonight will be largely dry with clear spells and just isolated showers. Mist and fog will set in overnight in light variable winds. Quite chilly with lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees.

Tomorrow will start dry with mist and fog slowly clearing. It will turn cloudier in Munster during the morning with rain developing in the southwest and gradually spreading northeastwards across the country during the afternoon. Localised heavy falls are possible with a chance of spot flooding. Drier, clearer weather will move into the southwest in the late evening. Blustery with highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, strong at times in the west.

Remaining unsettled with rain on Wednesday night clearing to leave showery conditions for the end of the week.

Any lingering rain in the north will clear on Thursday morning. Widespread showers will develop during the day, with the chance of some heavy downpours and isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate south to southwest winds.

Scattered showers will continue through Thursday night, some of which will be heavy at times. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in moderate southerly winds.

Another showery day on Friday, with further widespread and heavy showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Continued showers on Friday night with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light winds.

A mix of showers and sunny spells on Saturday, though a few more dry spells will develop at times. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Current indications suggest that a further spell of rain will spread from the south on Saturday night and Sunday, possibly turning heavy in places. The unsettled conditions will continue then into next week with showers and spells of rain.
