Breezy with a mix of cloud and bright spells today

Weather update from Met Éireann

Changeable with showers, but overall a good deal of dry weather too. Becoming a little cooler from midweek. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Breezy with a mix of cloud and bright spells in most areas today, along with occasional showers. Windy in the west and northwest with strong and gusty winds at times, southwest winds will be moderate to fresh elsewhere. Outbreaks of more persistent rain will develop in the far west and northwest, turning heavy at times this afternoon. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees, warmest in the east.

Rain at first in the west and northwest, clearing to showers scattered overnight. Driest in the southeast of the country. Rather cloudy with some clear breaks. Moderate to fresh southwest winds will ease light to moderate overnight. Lowest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) will bring a mix of cloud and bright or sunny spells with scattered showers, mostly dry in southern counties. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees, warmest in the southeast, with light to moderate westerly breezes.

Mostly dry and clear conditions on Tuesday night with just isolated showers at first, mainly in Atlantic areas. Turning cloudier overnight with some mist or fog patches forming, with a chance of some rain developing in the south. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with very light southwest winds.

Scattered showers will develop during the day on Wednesday, with more persistent rain in the northwest later. A good deal of cloud with some bright spells. Highs ranging 16 degrees in the west up to 21 degrees in the east. Light or moderate southwest winds.

Mainly dry overnight on Wednesday with isolated showers in the northwest. Partly cloudy with long clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with light westerly breezes.

Thursday will bring a good deal of dry weather with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Occasional showers likely in the north and west. Highs of 16 to 19 degrees generally with light or moderate westerly winds.

Showers mixed with dry and bright periods on Friday. Highs of 17 to 20 degrees with light to moderate northwest breezes.

Current indications show that there will be good dry spells over the weekend with some showers in the mix. Temperatures will likely to be in the high teens for most.
