Bridget Grimes

(née Cahill)

Shankill, Dublin / Cavan

Bridget Grimes (née Cahill), late of Shankill, Dublin and formerly of Cavan, died peacefully on 9th August, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin. Dearly loved wife of Padraig, loved and loving Mum of Kate and David, cherished Nana of James, loving sister of Rose, Mary, Rita, Phil and Angela, she is lovingly remembered and will be sadly missed by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and by all her nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, on Saturday (12th August) from 3.00pm-5.00pm. Funeral Mass on Monday (14th August) at 10.00am in St. Anne’s Church, Shankill followed by committal in Newland’s Cross Crematorium. The Mass may also be viewed online at churchservices.tv/shankill. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Purple House Cancer Support.

Breege Lynch

(née Malone)

Birragh, Kingscourt, Cavan, A82TV06

The death has occurred of Breege Lynch, née Malone, Birragh, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, peacefully in her 90th year, at her home and surrounded by her family, 10th August 2023.

Predeceased by her husband Christy, parents Hughie & Gretta, brothers Peter & P.J., step-daughter Rose & niece Denise. Deeply regretted by her sons, Hughie, Martin & Peter, brother Paddy, sister Catherine (U.K), step-sons Billy, James, Pat, & Jude, step-daughters Katie & Nellie. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home (A82TV06) on Friday, 11th August from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday, 12th August from 4pm until 8pm. Breege’s Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday 13th August in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, at 12pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Helen O'Donnell

(née Kennedy)

Leopardstown, Dublin / Belturbet, Cavan

Helen O’Donnell (née Kennedy), Leopardstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Belturbet, Co Cavan, died on 8th August 2023, peacefully, at home. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Sean, loving mother of Hugo, John and Ruairi, adored grandmother of Sofia, Patrick, Sayako, Shona, Hanako and Matthew. She will be very sadly missed by her loving family, including her daughters-in-law Nobuko, Mary and Isabel, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Massey Bros Funeral Home, 5 Newtown Park, Blackrock (A94X308) on Friday 11th August from 5.00pm-7.00pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday 12th August at 10.00am in the Church Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock, Co. Dublin followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium. Rose Mary O'Reilly

(née Reilly)

Rose Mary O'Reilly (nee Reilly) former Principal of Mullahoran N.S. died on the 10th August 2023, unexpectedly, but peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents James and Mary and baby granddaughter Eileen. Sadly missed by her devoted husband Oliver, her children Noel (Theresa), Damien (Joan), Annemarie, Finbar (Grainne), Olivia (Seamus), Denise (Liam), her adored grandchildren William, Cian, Oisin, Cormac, Shannon, Enya, Fionn, Fainche, Etain, Orna, Rían, Fiadh and Iarla, her sister Kathy Fegan (Sean), her nephew David, sister in law, brothers in law, nieces and nephews in law, former teaching colleagues, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Mary Duffy (née Carroll), 17 Foxfield, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Charlestown, Tallanstown, Co. Louth, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at The Louth County Hospital, Dundalk Wednesday 9th August 2023. Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Vera Carroll. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband Charles Duffy, sons Nigel, Gavin and Liam, daughter Elaine, son-in-law David Murphy, daughter-in-law Linda, grandchildren Oscar, Eimear, Dylan, Rian, Katie and Charlie, brothers Mick, Brian, Frank, Kevin, Pat, sisters Veronica, brothers-in-law John Baylon and John Duffy, sisters-in-law Maura, Meg, Marie, Cora, Paddy and Helen, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, on Saturday from 4pm to 8pm. Removal from her residence in Foxfield on Sunday afternoon to St. Malachy’s Church, Reaghstown, arriving for Requiem Mass at 2.30pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Jim Pat McKenna (Oiney)

Drumbriston, Emyvale, Monaghan, H18 WF60

The death has occurred of Jim Pat McKenna (Oiney), Drumbriston, Emyvale, County Monaghan, H18WF60, Thursday 10th August, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents James and Annie, his brother Hugo and his son-in-law Peter. Jim Pat will be sadly missed by his loving wife Nora, his children Sharon (Seamus), Deanna (Conor), Deirdre (Peter R.I.P), Martin (Shelly), Michelle (Pat), Lorraine (Aiden), Stephanie (Damian), Alison, his grandchildren, brothers and sisters and all extended family and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Jim Pat's remains will repose at his home from Thursday at 6pm. Removal on Saturday morning to arrive at The Sacred Heart Church, Carrickroe, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private Saturday morning to family and close friends please.
