Gardaí arrest male following Cavan Town assault

The incident occurred last Sunday at approximately 5:30pm

Gardaí are investigating an assault of a man in Cavan Town.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening July 23 at approximately 5:30pm on the pedestrian walkway between Main Street and the town car park in Cavan town.

Following initial investigations a search was carried out and a male was arrested in relation to the incident.

He was interviewed and subsequently charged and has appeared in Court.

A file is currently being prepared for the directions of the D.P.P.

The investigation is continuing and Gardaí are requesting anyone with information to contact Cavan Garda Station on 049 4368800.
