Amatino present service awards

Amatino Accountants and Business Consultants held a special staff appreciation day to recognise the dedicated and long service of employees within the firm.

Led by the directors, the event took place in the Hotel Kilmore on Tuesday, July 25, when staff from the four Amatino offices gathered together. Three employees were presented with their long service awards and one award was made to an employee who was placed first in Ireland in his exams.

Service awards were given to Cavan-based staff, Irene Harkness, who was awarded for her 20 years’ service, while Susan Smith received a five-year service award. Lisa Hughes, from the Amatino Carrickmacross Office, also received a five-year service award. A further award was made on the day to Cavan staff member, Mark Tyler, who was placed 1st in his CPA Exams in the April 2023 sitting of 'Professional Level Audit & Assurance' exams. Mark is a part-qualified accountant and is on a programme where he is being trained in Amatino while studying with Griffith College for his final CPA exams.

In his address at the awards Barry Kieran, managing partner at Amatino said: “I speak on behalf of all our directors when I say that we very much appreciate the hard work and commitment of all our staff. We are delighted to be able to honour those who have worked with the company for some years.

"I congratulate Irene for her 20 years loyal service to Amatino and to Susan and Lisa for their five-year service awards. This is the eighth year of these awards, the first was held in 2015 when we introduced 5, 10, 15 and 20-year Staff Service Awards. Long-service awards are a way of saying 'thank you' to our employees and recognising their contribution.”

Linda Scott, Geoffrey Foster and Desmond Lowry, directors at Amatino, presented Irene Harkness, senior accountant and team leader in the Amatino Cavan office, with her 20-year service award. They described Irene as a dedicated, loyal, hardworking and a very valuable member of the team.

Geoffrey Foster presented Susan Smith with her five-year service award. Susan is a part-qualified accountant and is continuing with an Amatino Training Programme where she is being mentored by Amatino senior staff while studying for her ACCA Exams. She has just two exams left, so she is close to qualifying as an accountant.

Geoffrey also presented Mark Tyler with a special memento for being placed first in his CPA Exams in April this year and expressed how proud the company are to have another of their students place first in exams in Ireland.

Barry Kieran presented Lisa Hughes from Carrickmacross with her award for five years of service to Amatino. A graduate of DKIT, Lisa joined Amatino as a trainee-chartered accountant, qualified and now runs her own team specialising in accounts, taxation and outsourced bookkeeping.
