Changeable weather patterns to continue

Remaining changeable with sunny spells most days, along with rain or showers at times. That's the latest outlook from the national weather forecaster.

This morning will be largely dry and bright with just a few lingering showers. Later in the afternoon and evening, more persistent and potentially heavy outbreaks of rain will push in over Munster, extending to much of Leinster and Connacht by nightfall. Highest afternoon temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees. Light to moderate westerly breezes, gradually backing southeasterly.

Outbreaks of rain will spread northwards tonight with mist and low cloud about too. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with mostly light to moderate variable breezes, but stronger winds at times along southern and western coasts.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) will have a wet and cloudy start with rain giving way to sunny spells and showers from the west. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees, with moderate to fresh and gusty north to northwest winds developing.

Long clear spells and some showers along northern coasts overnight on Wednesday. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, in mostly moderate north to northwest winds, fresh and gusty along Atlantic coasts.

Thursday will bring sunshine and scattered passing light showers. North to northwest winds will remain mostly moderate in strength. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees.

Mostly dry Thursday night with long clear spells and just isolated showers along Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with light northwesterly breezes.

Friday will likely be a similar day to Thursday with sunny spells and scattered light showers but with lighter winds. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light to northwest winds

Current indications suggest that Saturday will start off cloudy and wet, giving way to sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light to moderate northerly breezes.
