Lochlann's success

Teagasc Farm Safety Art competition.

A Cavan child was amongst the winners of a Teagasc Farm Safety Art competition.

From over 100 wonderful entries, Lochlann McCormack was the winner in the seven to nine years old category. The competition aims to raise awareness among children of the dangers and risks around livestock, and to encourage farm families to think about farm safety.

The judges enthused of Lochlann's mini-masterpiece: 'Lochlann's entry highlights the importance of farm safety and adult supervision on farm. He says: "Be farm safe! Be wise! Have an adult supervise". Lochlann drew a picture of a child and an adult on the farm, a bull with an important farm safety sign, "Beware of the bull", and he also drew a first aid kit and a hand washing station, which are very important things to have on farm to keep safe.'
