Male charged following Carrickfern home burglary

The male was arrested and taken to Cavan Garda Station

Gardaí in Cavan arrested a male in his 40’s following a home burglary in Carrickfern.

The arrest was made on July 14 and the male was detained at Cavan Garda Station for questioning.

The incident occurred at a house in the Carrickfern area of the town in the early hours of Saturday morning, July 1.

A quantity of jewellery and a sum of cash was taken.

A silver Toyota Yaris, 10 CN, was also taken from the scene.

The Gardai in Cavan also received a number of reports of suspicious activity in the Cherrymount area the same morning between the hours of 1am and 2am.

The male has since been charged with a number of offences ranging from public order, criminal damage and theft. This male is to appear in court today.
