Two males arrested following suspicious activity in Monaghan
The males in their 30s were later charged with theft
Gardaí arrested two males (30s) in the Carrickmacross area last Friday morning, June 23, following reports of suspicious activity.
Both males were disturbed in a vacant house in the Carrickmacross area and they fled through the fields.
Local units assisted by the Air Support Unit carried out searches in the immediate area.
The males were subsequently arrested and detained for questioning before being charged with theft related offences.
The following day (Saturday) both males appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice, where the court was notified a bench warrant was active for one of the defendants.
Gardaí shared the incident on Facebook where they thanked members of the public for their assistance.
