Sweet success for Ice Cream Treats at awards

Cavan’s Ice Cream Treats picked up four prestigious awards at the British Frozen Food Federations 2023 Gala Dinner Dance and Awards in London last week.

The ceremony took place on Thursday, June 15, where retail products were judged by 14 independent consumer panels, each consisting of 12 people from all walks of life across the UK, and a 15th panel consisting of a group of professional chefs.

The judging process took place over an eight-week period involving 168 consumers, eight professional chefs, and a guest member judge - all assessing taste, texture, the cooking process, the packaging, presentation and more.

At its conclusion, Killeshandra’s Ice Cream Treats came in for due recognition against its industry peers.

The local company received gold in the ‘Best Dessert' Category for its ‘Moo’d Cookies and Cream Ice cream’ and a silver award for its ‘Whitbread Baileys Ice cream’.

Their ‘Ice Beam Dairy Free Ice cream’ meanwhile took gold in the 'Free From' category; and a silver award in the 'Retail' category.

In a post shared to social media, Ice Cream Treats owner Gerry Sheridan said: “We are thrilled and over the moon to have picked up four awards in Best Dessert Category, Free From Category, and Retail Category.”

Using local milk in their products, the multi-award winning ice cream and frozen yogurt manufacturer was first founded in 2013. The business is also a member of the 'Created in Cavan' brand.

Mr Sheridan added: “It means so much to Ice Cream Treats to win these awards as we have a team of passionate people who work very hard to deliver the best ice cream to our customer base. A well-deserved recognition!”
