A little bit of Paradise

Anyone who heads along to Saturday's launch of an exhibition of new work created by Virginia based artist Stephen Dunne are in for a treat.

Entitled 'A Paradise of Paradox and Pardon' the works are instantly appealing, but reward the viewer who's willing to spend a while with them.

Limited to just a few large scale paintings, the welcoming colourful canvases spark questions of perspective, emotions and process. Featuring birds and bats perched on branches or in foliage, they blur the line of abstract and figurative art.

Stephen is a graduate of the MA program in painting at London's Royal College of Art and of NCAD in Dublin, so you can be assured upon entering the gallery space, you are in the hands of a genuine talent.

He is equally as accomplished and engaging in discussing his work, as the Celt found out when meeting Stephen and curator Joe Keenan this week as they finished hanging the works.

The exhibition launches on Saturday, June 10 from 3-5pm and runs until Saturday, July 22.
