Drung, Cavan / Ballinamore, Leitrim

Died 2nd May 2023, unexpectedly at her residence. Predeceased by her parents John & Mary Maguire (Ballinamore)

Beloved wife of Anthony and cherished mother of Seán and Liam.

Will forever be missed by her husband and sons, her sister Dympna, brother Gene, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Clogga House, Cormeen Lower, Bailieborough, Cavan / Mullagh, Cavan / Moynalty, Meath

Peter (P) Flanagan, Clogga House, Cormeen Lower, Bailieborough, Co Cavan and late of Lenenavragh, Mullagh died on the 2nd May 2023 suddenly but peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Josephine, sisters Brigid, Susan, brothers Jim and John-Joe.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Gretta, daughter Mary, son John, son-in-law Michael, daughter-in-law Grainne, his adored grandchildren Dylan, Cillian, Emma, Saoirse, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Friday the 5th May from 5pm to 7:15pm (Family time thereafter). Removal at 7:30pm to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Newcastle at 8pm. Funeral mass on Saturday morning at 11am. Burial afterwards in Mullagh Cemetery.

House strictly private at all times please.

Matthew (Mattie) and Kathleen LYNCH

Grieve, Mountnugent, Cavan

The death has occurred, on Wednesday, May 3rd, of Matthew (Mattie) and Kathleen Lynch, Grieve, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan; peacefully, at home, in the loving care of their family and palliative care team. Predeceased by their parents and their granddaughter, baby Faye. Mattie is also predeceased by his sisters Patricia, Mary Ellen, Peggy (and her husband Gerry), Theresa (and her husband Pee and their son Kieron), and his brother-in-law Eamonn. Kathleen (née Ginnell) is also predeceased by her sister Philomena (and her husband Gerry), brothers Pat and Michael; Michael’s wife Christine and their daughter Claire; and her brother-in-law Thomas.

Mattie and Kathleen are sadly missed by their daughters Ena, Tricia (and her partner Thomas), Carmel (Gerard), Irene (Vincent) and Jacinta (George); their grandchildren Matthew, Tosh, Darragh and Thadie; Mattie’s sister Annie (Togher); Kathleen’s sister Eileen (Smyth), brother James and his wife Yvonne; their nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Removal to the Church of Sts Brigid and Fiach, Ballinacree, Oldcastle, Co. Meath (A82 PY91) on Friday, May 5th, arriving at 6.45pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 6th, at 1pm, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private at all times and family flowers only, please; donations, if so desired, to the Irish Association of Palliative Care.

Gus McMenamin

Rush, Dublin / Kilnaleck, Cavan

McMenamin (Rush, Co. Dublin and formerly Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan) - May 2, 2023, (peacefully) after a short illness, Gus (Retd Commandant Ordance Corps), brother of the late Philip. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Anne, children Finola, Deirdre, Niamh, Conor and Niall, sons in law, daughters in law, his 9 adored grandchildren, sister Annette, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Gus Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his home (K56 W208) on Friday evening from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral mass on Saturday morning at 10am in St. Maur's Church, Rush followed by burial in Whitestown Cemetery, Rush. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Irish Cancer Society. To view the funeral Click Here.

Patricia Shalvey (née Mc Manus)

New York, Ballyconnell & Kilnaleck., Cavan

Patricia Shalvey, ( Nee McManus) New York, and formerly Ardlougher, Ballyconnell, & Kilnaleck, Co Cavan. May 3rd. 2023 (peacefully) at her residence in the loving care of her devoted family, Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick,and sister Kathleen, Loving mother of Karen, (Sean) Patrick (Carmel) Tommy (Trish) ) Kevin (Deirdre) and Gerard (Breege. Deeply regretted by sister Margaret McPhillips,brothers Jim, and Brian, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law,nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends. May she rest in peace. Funeral will take place in Floral Park New York on Saturday May 6th. . Memorial Mass will be held in Drumkilly Church at a later date.

John Shannon

Portaliffe Beg, Killeshandra, Cavan

John Shannon, Portaliffe Beg, Killeshandra, County Cavan, 3rd May 2023, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents John and Sarah Brigid, his brother Tommy and brother-in-law Thomas. Very deeply regretted by his heartbroken sisters Bernadette and Noreen, his niece Emma, relatives and many friends.

Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass on Friday 5th May in St. Brigid's Church, Killeshandra at 11am followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78) at 1pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care. Family homes strictly private please.

Philomena McCormack (née Connolly)

Leck, Threemilehouse, Monaghan / Westmeath

peacefully at Mullinahinch House Nursing Home.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy, her sisters Peg and Roseanne and her brothers Charlie and Packie.

Sadly missed by her sister Mary Barrett, her brother in law John Barrett, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Removal today Wednesday (03/05/2023), arriving at St. Michael’s Church, Corcaghan, Co. Monaghan, at 7.30 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Corcaghan on Thursday (04/05/2023) at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Cornamagh cemetery, Athlone, at 2 p.m.
