Application for 36 new houses in Cavan Town
Plans have been lodged for permission to build 36 new houses on the outskirts of Cavan Town.
Latt Properties Ltd submitted a planning application to council planners last week for the proposed development at Creighan. The firm also wishes to build a new access road forming a new junction to the Ballinagh Rd (R395).
The proposed development will comprise a mix of one-storey and two-storey units, largely semi detached, ranging in size and design from one bed to three-bed residential properties. The plans also provide for a pumping station and all associated site works and developments, as well as connection to existing services.
Planning was granted in 2008 to developers Peadar and Paul Fay to build 42 fully serviced dwelling houses at the site. Permission was allowed with 34 conditions attached.
In 2018 Latt Properties Ltd received the green light on plans to construct 36 houses at the Gallops in Latt. The same company also successfully applied to demolish an existing dwelling and construct four semi-detached bungalows at Swellan Lower in 2016.
The application lodged with Cavan County Council comes shortly after plans were lodged by Woodfort Corporate Ltd to develop a near 100-unit housing development on a “portion of an unfinished site” at Station Lane, Swellan Lower.
The proposed development will consist of 10 two-bed maisonettes, 70 three-bed two-storey units, and 16 four bedroom one-and-two storey units.
Permission is also sought for the construction of a new crèche facility at Swellan Lower. A Natura Impact Statement “will be submitted to the planning authority with this application” says Woodfort Corporate Ltd, which has a registered company address at DMFN Chartered Accountants, Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin.
Longford registered AMC Developments Ltd has meanwhile pre-validation for planning to construct three two-storey terraced houses including two three-bedroom, end-of-terrace dwellings and one two-bed, mid-terrace unit at 37-39 Kilnavara Heights, Cavan Town.
The application includes all associated ancillary site and services works, including connections to services.
Decisions on both the Latt Properties and AMC Developments Ltd applications are due in June.
The Woodfort Corporate Ltd application is due for decision in May.
