Challenge

Speaking about the 150k challenge Cathy White, community fundraising executive at LauraLynn said: “We are delighted to kick of 2023 with our 150k in February challenge. We are calling on the people across Cavan to join thousands of others from all over Ireland who have committed to walking every day, while raising vital funds for LauraLynn. It’s a challenge that anyone can do, there’s no time limits and you can clock up your kilometres in a way that works for you.”

By signing up you will not only be making a huge impact on the lives of the children and families LauraLynn supports but you will also receive a special LauraLynn t-shirt, which will raise awareness for LauraLynn whilst on your walks.

LauraLynn provides palliative and hospice care and support for children, aged 0-18 years, with life-limiting conditions and their families from all across Ireland. The charity provides a range of services including symptom management for children, music and play therapy, psychological support, family and sibling camps, short breaks, crisis care and end-of-life care.

Care is delivered in dedicated LauraLynn facilities, in hospital, in the community, or in the family home, depending on the location and medical needs of the child and the family’s preference. LauraLynn also provides vital bereavement supports to families after they have lost a child. It also undertakes research into the relatively new area of children’s palliative care. LauraLynn care is provided free of charge for children and families. LauraLynn relies primarily on donations to fund its hospice services.
