Cross Country joy for Crosserlough
Thirty pupils from Crosserlough National School participated in the County School's cross country running in Killinkere recently, and shared in the glory of winning the Rice Perpetual Cup.
Approximately 180 to 200 pupils ran in each category, at the well organised event on Wednesday, October 12.
Crosserlough NS are very proud of all the boys and girls who each took home a gold medal in their categories.
Some children won individual medals for their effort in finishing in the top 12 runners in each category.
In the Junior boys, Charlie Reilly ran 600 metres and came 6th.
Aoibhinn Farrelly was placed 5th in her race.
Cillian Reilly and Lorcan Farrelly both ran 1km and were exceptional on the day. Cillian came 10th in the senior boys while Lorcan came 1st.
The pupils were thrilled to be presented with the Rice Perpetual Cup for the first time ever in our school. The school finished on the same number of points as Mullahoran NS.
