Cavan Garda Supt on the move
Garda National Community Engagement Bureau appointement confirmed.
Cavan Garda Superintendent Padraic Jones has been elevated to the role of Chief Superintendent and assign to lead the Garda National Community Engagement Bureau.
Based out of Harcourt Square, the GNCEB has a number of diverse roles all of which focus on developing and implementing strategies around community policing in communities, both urban and rural.
Confirmation of the move was first given by Cavan-Monaghan Chief Superintendent Alan McGovern at a recent the Cavan Joint Policing Committee.
Originally from Dromard, Co Longford, Chief Supt Jones previously served as Sergeant in Bailieborough.
He also worked in Roscommon and at Garda Headquarters in Dublin, before moving to oversee the Cavan Division.
He replaced Supt James Coen, who retired from the post in December 2020 after 40 years services with An Garda Síochána.
