Tara comes back down to earth
Cavan Rose Tara Rogers is back home in her beloved Knockbride following her fantastic performance on the Rose of Tralee stage.
Speaking to reporter Michelle Taite, Tara described her time in the limelight as a “pinch-me” moment.
“It was such an experience to think that I was on stage having a laugh with Dáithí Ó Sé. It’s kind of surreal!”
The primary school teacher is extremely thankful to all those who supported her over the last couple of months since she was crowned Cavan Rose.
“Ever since getting back to Cavan, my phone hasn’t stopped with people saying it was amazing and different things. It’s really nice to hear the positive feedback. I haven’t actually watched it myself, I don’t know if I want to watch it.”
To Tara’s relief, her boyfriend didn’t take her on stage digs of his footballing performances to heart.
“I’m not in my boyfriend’s bad books. I think he was delighted with his three minutes of fame. He was trending on twitter that night as #conoroftralee.”
The Knockbride lady is looking forward to her next two years as the Cavan Rose and her return to Tralee as a guest for next year’s show.
