Swanlinbar school receives boost
Emergency works funding has been approved for Swanlinbar national school.
The funding was announced by Minister for Education, Norma Foley, for Scoil Naomh Mhuire.
School principal Ciara Murphy has confirmed that teh money will be spent to safety fencing to the front of the school.
"We are delighted to receive the funding we have been awarded to erect the much-needed fencing for health and safety of everyone in the school," she said.
Fianna Fáil TD Brendan Smith has welcomed the news: "These works will facilitate safer access at Scoil Mhuire which is located along a busy road.
"I compliment the Principal, Ciara Murphy, and the Board of Management on their work over the years in enhancing facilities at the school."
Deputy Niamh Smyth also welcomed the investment as "really positive news" for the locality.
