‘Buddies’ charity to hold table quiz

Cavan anti-bullying campaign 'Be Buddies Not Bullies' is set to host two fundraisers. The campaign to raise awareness of the implications of bullying has had unprecedented public support since first launched at the end of 2021.

The family of Eden Heaslip, the young man who took his life after an unrelenting campaign of bullying, began the 'Be Buddies Not Bullies' campaign to raise awareness about the issue.

The anti-bullying car sticker campaign, with the familiar slogan dotted on cars all over Ireland, has spread the message far and wide.

A shave, wax or dye fundraiser was another initiative by the campaign that got widespread support. The latest sees the campaign host two quiz nights in aid of 'Be Buddies Not Bullies'.

The first is in Crover House on May 22 starting at 7pm; while the second is in the Slieve Russell, Ballyconnell on May 29. The format is teams of four with the cost of entry set at €40 per table. It will be 10 rounds, with 10 questions per round on a mixture of topics including general knowledge, sport, and music.

Organiser Leanne Coyle said of the event: “We are looking for people to register their teams for the quiz to show support. They can register with the online application form at jotform or by emailing bebuddiesquiznight@gmail.com"

The organisers are asking businesses to support with hampers or spot prizes for the quiz.
