Lands behind White Horse Hotel zoned ‘Town Core’
The carpark to the rear of the former White Horse Hotel in Cootehill is to be rezoned from ‘General Enterprise and Employment’ to ‘Town Core’ in the proposed draft County Development Plan.
‘It is considered appropriate to afford this change in zoning as requested taking into account that the subject site already adjoins the Town Core’ said the CDP prior to being put to a vote for approval at a recent meeting of elected members.
The request was successfully made by local businessman Jimmie Brady.
Separately, Jean McPhilips submitted that lands at Errigal, Cootehill, be rezoned for residential development.
The lands had been zoned General Enterprise and Employment in the draft CDP 2022-2028 and the submission to rezone the site as ‘Residential’ was accepted.
Unanimous approval was given to the proposed change, and similarly in respect of a change of zoning to an existing garage/vehicle test centre in Killycramp, Cootehill.
It was stated that, over the coming years, there was a wish to expand operations, which would have a positive impact on employment for the town, and therefore ‘Enterprise and Employment’ zoning was sought for a field to the back of the premises.
