It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Hugh Sheridan

Creeny, Milltown, Belturbet, Cavan

Hugh “Hughie” Sheridan, Creeny, Milltown, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, 12th November 2021 suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his parents James and Rebecca, brothers Jim and Eddie and sister Molly. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Dympna, daughter Anita (Galligan), son Paul, son in law John, daughter in law Janice, grandchildren Oileán, Ríain and Ada, sisters Sheila, Eileen and Kathleen, brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Remains will be reposing at his residence Eircode H14 V627 on Saturday, 13th November, from 1pm until 5pm. Remains will leave his residence at 9.30am on Sunday, 14th November, to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Milltown for 10am Funeral Mass with cremation afterwards at Lakelands Crematorium. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Mary Duffy

Killenthomas House, Rathangan, Kildare / Magheracloone, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Mary Duffy, Killenthomas House, Rathangan, Co. Kildare and formerly of Tonaneave, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully, at Naas General Hospital, Co. Kildare, Thursday, 11th November 2021. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Margaret. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving brothers Paddy, Paul and Michael, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at the residence of her brother Paul this Friday evening from 4pm to 9pm in full compliance with current COVID-19 regulations.

House Strictly Private at all other times.

Removal on Saturday morning to arrive at Ss Peter and Paul’s Church, Lower Magheracloone, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Anthony (Tony) Mc Dermott

Annareagh, Glaslough, Monaghan

Anthony (Tony) McDermott, Annareagh Glaslough County Monaghan, Thursday, the 11th of November 2021, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Annie and dear father of Patsy, Marian and Madeline. Deeply regretted by his son Patsy, daughters Madeline, Marian, daughter-in-law Maggie, son in law Dave, grandchildren, Anthony, Dean, Barry, Amanda and great-grandchildren Caolain and Dylan, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing today, Friday, in McMahon's Funeral Home, in Emyvale, from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass tomorrow, Saturday, in St Mary's Glennan at 12 noon and burial afterwards in Drumbanagher Cemetery. House private, please.

John O'Grady

Glynch House, Newbliss, Monaghan, H18 EK11

The death has occurred of John O'Grady, Glynch House, Newbliss, Co. Monaghan (H18EK11). John passed away at Cavan General Hospital on Thursday, 11th November. Predeceased by his sons Fintan and Derek. Beloved husband of Martha and adored father of Eileen (Bruce Blake, Alex, Hannah and Ruth,Slane), Geraldine (Elias Issa, Lebanon), Alan (Janet, London), Barbara (James, Washington DC, USA), Dorren (Sylvester Quinn, Monaghan). John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by Martha, daughters, son, grandchildren Alex & Hannah Blake, Martha & Molly O'Grady, Oscar Quinn, John's Sister Angela( Leonard, Trim, Co Meath), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends and by all who knew and loved John.

John will be resting at the family home from 2pm to 8pm this Saturday evening, 13th November. John's funeral cortège will travel from the family home at approximately 11am to arrive at St Laobhin's Chapel, Killeevan, for 11.30am Mass on Sunday morning. Eleanor Elizabeth (Betty) Ross

Monaghan

Formerly from Portadown and Monaghan. Peacefully, on Friday, 12th November 2021, at Hockley Lodge Private Nursing Home.

Beloved sister of Edna, Robert, Johnny, Vida and the late Ruby, loving aunt to Eleanor, Janet, John, Carol, Jayne and Fiona. Betty will be dearly missed by the entire family circle.

Funeral service on Monday, 15th November, in Braddox Presbyterian Church, Clontibret, at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining church yard. Please adhere to the current social distancing guidelines at all times. Donations in memory of Betty, if so desired, to Parkinsons, c/o Conly Funeral Directors, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan or any family member.
