€7,500 donated to MS Cavan after county run
Dillon Donnelly was inspired after his mum Caroline was first diagnosed with MS in 2014
A young Belturbet man has donated an amazing €7,500 to the local Cavan MS branch, the proceeds of having set himself the challenge to run the length of the county in just 10 days
Dillon Donnelly ran between 25 to 40 kilometres per day, beginning and ending the incredible feat by ascending Cavan's most famous peak- Cuilcagh.
The Belturbet Rory O'Moore's GFC forward, and barber by trade, was inspired to take on the feat after his mum Caroline was first diagnosed with MS in 2014. She has been able to avail of the “excellent service” provided by the local Cavan MS Ireland branch, and as Dillon says, this is his way of hopefully “giving something back”.
On social media he posted: 'I'd like to thank everyone for the kind words, donations, advice & support over the last few months. I also would like to thank my beloved club Belturbet Rory O'Moores & the people of Belturbet who have been unbelievably supportive throughout the fundraising event.'
