Biden edges nearer while Trump blames 'fake polls' and 'corrupt system'
Donald Trump's grasp on power appears precarious as his presidential rival Joe Biden edges ever closer to claiming victory.
The election is reaching the end game with just four states remaining to declare: Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada and crucially Pennsylvania.
As it stands, Democrats' candidate has secured 253 electoral college seats, just 17 short of the 270 threshold required. After an impressive start to the election count, the president's momentum has seemingly stalled.
Mr Biden has rapidly eaten into Donald Trump's lead in Pennsylvania, and if he succeeds there he will take 20 electoral college votes and become president.
He is also leading in Georgia which would take him to 269, just one shy of the White House.
Meanwhile in a 16 minute televised statement last night, President Trump alleged electoral fraud.
"If you count the legal votes, I easily win," he claimed.
Amongst President Trump's allegations he claimed 'fake polls' or 'suppression polls' were published to dissuade Republican supporters from voting.
