Bereavement notices from Cavan and Monaghan

It is with regret that we note the deaths of the following people from counties Cavan and Monaghan in the past 24 hours. May they all rest in peace.

Terence (Teddy) Alwell

Cortubber, Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Terence (Teddy) Alwell, Cortubber, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, peacefully, at Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home, on Tuesday, 13th October, 2020, in his 95th year. Recently predeceased by his sister Ann, Teddy will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Barbara, nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings a private funeral and burial will take place for the family in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt. Removal on Wednesday from his nephew's home, Main St, Kingscourt, to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, arriving at 7pm. Teddy's funeral cortège will leave Main Street and travel via Lower Main Street, Main Street and Kells Road, to the church. Friends and neighbours are very welcome to line the route in a socially distanced manner as a mark of respect.

Kathleen Baker (née Mc Govern)

Drumbeagh, Corlough, Cavan

Daughter of the late Jim & Susan (Big Sir) Mc Govern, peacefully at her home. Deeply regretted by her loving sons Colin and Gavin.

MAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Her remains will leave her late home at 11.40am on Thursday to arrive via Rountree's Cross to Saint Patrick's Church, Corlough for 12 noon Funeral Mass and burial. People are welcome to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes between her home and the chapel.

Due to government and HSE guidelines house, funeral and burial will br private to family only.

Peacefully at the home of his son Damien, Lucan.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret and his son Fergal.

Sadly missed by his sons Damien, Liam, Rory, Donal, Fiacre and Shane, daughters Margaret, Emer and Sinéad, son in law Dave, daughters in law Kate, Fionnuala, Mary and Siobhán, grandchildren Emer, Fergal, Ciara, Orla, Una, Ailis, Julia, Eoin Mícheal, Cóilín Dan, Niamh, Sara, Daniel, Conor, Lauren and Chloe, great grandchildren Chloe, Shea, Brandon and Caleb, sister Flossy, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence at Latlurcan on Wednesday (14/10/2020) from 5 p. m.

Removal on Thursday (15/10/2020) at 10.15 a. m. arriving at St. Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan for funeral Mass at 11 a. m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph's Old Cemetery, Latlurcan.

Peter James McNally

Innisfree House, & formerly Corkishbane, Corduff, Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Monaghan Town, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Peter James McNally. Innnisfree House, Monaghan & formerly Corkishbane, Corduff, Carrickmacross, 12th October 2020. Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his father Peter and his sister Margaret (Rooney). Sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his mother Ellen, his brother Pat and sister Elizabeth (Gardner), his sister-in-law Ann, brother-in-law Peter, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, cousins, relatives and his many friends in Innisfree House.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

In accordance with current guidelines, Peter's removal, Funeral Mass and burial will take place privately, for family only, arriving to St. Michael's Church, Corduff, on Tuesday, 13th October, at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 14th October, at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

To keep each other safe it is important that we follow the guidelines from the Government and HSE, adhere to social distancing, wear face coverings in appropriate circumstances and refrain from handshaking and hugging.

Peter's funeral cortège will leave Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday evening, turning off the Shercock Road at Granerogue at approx. 7pm, continuing on to the Aghaile Road, passing the McNally late homestead and proceeding to St. Michael's Church, Corduff.

The management and staff of The Anglo-Celt wish to extend their deepest sympathies to the relatives and friends of the deceased. May they all rest in peace.
