Gardaí appeal for witnesses to serious accident in Emyvale as man airlifted to hospital

Gardaí in Monaghan are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision in Emyvale yesterday (Thursday), July 2.

A collision involving a van and a lorry occurred on the N2 at Lisseagh near Emyvale at approximately 3.40pm. The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, was seriously injured in the collision and airlifted to Tallaght Hospital. His condition is understood to be serious. The driver of the lorry escaped injury.

The stretch of road at the crash site remains closed and traffic diversions are in place. Garda forensic collision investigators are expected to complete an examination of the scene later this morning (Friday), July 3.
