Investigation launched into fatal road crash

Gardaí at Carrick on Shannon Garda Station are investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision which occured on the Ballinamore to Swanlinbar Road (R202) at approximately 7pm on Sunday night (February 8). The incident occured in the townland of Lissacairn four miles approximately from Swanlinbar.

An 18-year-old man, who was driver and sole occupant, was taken to Enniskillen Hospital where was later pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning. Two female occupants of second vehicle were taken to Enniskillen hospital and later released.

The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
