Cavan goalkeeper to appear on RTÉ chat show

A Cavan GAA goalkeeper will discuss his battle with depression on an RTÉ chatshow this weekend.  
Alan O'Mara, along with pop singer Bressie, will join Brendan O’Connor on The Saturday Night Show this Saturday night, to discuss their own experiences and share advice on how they got through their own difficult times.
The show promises to have a strong mental health dimension. Bressie, has joined with a group of musicians to help break the stigma surrounding mental health in this country. Bressie, who took an active part in the first Cycle Against Suicide in spring of 2013, was the producer and driving force behind the new album ‘Simple Things’, released today (Friday, November 15) to support the work of the charity which was founded by Jim Breen. The aim of the album and the charity is to spread Jim’s message that ‘it’s ok not to feel ok and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help’.
 
Each of the artists on the album gave up their time and considerable talents for free to appear on the album. Also on the programme is Joe Brolly, GAA pundit, barrister and former Allstar, Joe, who famously donated a kidney to his friend, will discuss feuds with Tyrone and why we shouldn’t fear becoming living donors.
 
The Saturday Night Show airs on RTÉ One on Saturday at 9.35pm.
