Police in the North are investigating the unexplained deaths of two people in Lisnaskea. Olivia Reilly, 29, and Noel Reilly, 36, were found dead at separate addresses, a mile apart, within 24 hours of each other - it is understood the deaths are not related. Olivia Reilly was found in a house at Trasna Way on Sunday at about 7.30pm. At midday on Monday, Noel Reilly’s death was reported at nearby Carrowshee Avenue.
A PSNI spokesperson told The Anglo Celt that the investigation is at an early stage and all lines of inquiry are being investigated.
Sinn Fein Assembly member Sean Lynch told The Celt: “I live in Carrowshee Park, Lisnaskea, where the body of Noel Reilly was found. The news came in on Sunday evening of the first death, the town was shocked with disbelief and particularly when news travelled to the town of the second death, - there was a stunned silence in the town. My thoughts at this stage are with both grieving families.”
Disbelief
“Olivia O’Reilly came from Kinawley and Noel came from the town – he has a very wide family connection in the town. He is connected to the GAA on his mother’s side, not only with the Emmet’s GAA team, but the Fermanagh County team”, said Sean Lynch.
“I knew Noel to speak to walking around the town if I was coming from the shop – I didn’t know him personally, but I knew his wider family connections”, said the Assembly member.
“I went down to see the family yesterday afternoon and they were obvious stunned and in a state of disbelief at what had happened”, he added.
Fr Gabriel Kelly, curate in Kinawley told The Celt that when he was informed of what had happened, he went to the family home of Olivia Reilly’s parents.
“They were only after hearing it themselves. Then I went to the house in Trasna Way in Lisnaskea. I had to wait for a while before I got in – when I got in I prayed the Last Rights for Olivia.
“Olivia has a sister, Amanda, travelling home from Australia this evening (Tuesday) and she has another sister, Philomena, and also has two brothers, Dallan and Barry”.
Devastated
“The family are totally devastated as is the community – it is the second death in their family. They lost a son, Kevin, eleven years ago in a drowning accident. Olivia was the youngest girl in the family and is a daughter of Kevin and Rose Reilly. Olivia has a little son – they were very close and she was very close to him and to her parents,” said Fr Kelly.
Her funeral mass takes place this morning Wednesday at St Naile’s Church, Kinawley at 11am.
