Cavan to take on Tyrone at Brewster Park

Cavan's qualifer with Tyrone has been refixed for Enniskillen this Saturday evening.

Cavan's round 3 qualifier was due to be the opening act of a double header in Croke Park, with Kildare and Mayo providing the 7pm match. However Kildare were adamant on taking advantage of their home draw, and refused to play their match at HQ. The Lilywhites' manager Cian O'Neill insisted that they they would only fulfill the fixture in St Conleth's, Newbridge, despite its capacity of just 8,300.

With the GAA backing down, it's understood that Cavan - the nominal home team - were given the option of still playing at Croke Park. However, Mattie McGleenan's team opted for Brewster Park, which has traditionally been seen as a home from home, given its proximity, and more importantly Cavan's impressive record at the venue.

The throw-in at Enniskillen will still be at 5pm, as the match will be televised by Sky.

Meanwhile captain Dara McVeety and Conor Moynagh are expected to appeal their red cards which they received after the final whistle in last week's feisty encounter with Down. The appeals are likely to be heard on Thursday night.
