Another weekend of upsets in club championships

The club football championship has caught light with another weekend of shocks in all grades.

Pride of place at senior level went to 7/2 outsiders Lacken, who stunned Cavan Gaels, with Niall McKiernan kicking 1-7 for the Celtics.

Not to be outdone, Cuchulainns followed up by beating Cootehill to throw that group wide open.

Ballinagh, meanwhile, came from a point down at half-time to score 1-9 unanswered against Denn while Castlerahan finished strongly in putting five goals past Killygarry.

Star performer over the weekend was arguably Kingscourt's Joe Dillon, who scored 4-3 in their seven-goal romp against an understrength Killeshandra.
