Nadine's Got Talent!

An 18-year-old from Cavan Town may see herself facing the wrath of Simon Cowell in the new year. Nadine Lyons has made it through the preliminary auditions for Britain’s Got Talent.
The popular TV talent show, which is in it’s eighth season have been holding auditions all across the UK and Nadine attended the Belfast leg in the Europa Hotel. Speaking excitedly to the Anglo-Celt the raven-haired beauty exclaimed:
“It’s up in the air at the minute. I got through the first and second round auditions and now I’m waiting to see if I will be up in front of the judges.
“I think only a certain amount of people got to this stage, so it’s very exciting, I’m so happy!” It’s clear the selection process for the competition is tough, as Nadine explains: “You had to apply online and upload a video of yourself performing, from those videos they chose who would make it to the open auditions. “Last weekend, I went to Belfast where I got through the first round of auditions, then I auditioned a second time, in front of the executive producer, and it was filmed. I sang two songs, 'People helping People’ by Birdy and 'Royals’ by Lorde.”
Anxious wait
Nadine tells the Celt that although she has been singing all her life she only began taking it seriously after her stint in 2011’s Cavan’s Got Talent, where she came second.
Currently studying Arts and Humanities in St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, she is anxiously awaiting the call from the BGT team.
It will be a long wait for Nadine, as she won’t find out until February whether she’ll be auditioning in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
“I was nervous at the auditions but now I’m just apprehensive - it’s such a long wait, wondering what to think. I’m so proud to have gotten to this stage,” she says.
