Anjula set to spice things up at taste of cavan festival
Taste of Cavan organisers have just announced a new chef for the food festival line up next month at Cavan’s Equestrian Centre.
With the popularity of Indian foods increasing in Ireland in recent years, Anjula Devi is sure to spice things up in the celebrity chef cookery demos.
The founder of 'Anjula Devi’, a provider of authentic Indian cooking lessons, dinner parties and corporate events, Anjula was taught to cook by her father from the age of 10 years.
She’s been passionate about food ever since. She loves making authentic Indian dishes, which are healthy and full of flavour.
The chef is also brand ambassador for TRS Foods, and is a winner of a prestigious BBC Good Food Show Bursary Award.
She was chosen to be an Olympic torchbearer for the 2012 London Olympics because of her role as a carer, and volunteer work at a school, helping children with learning difficulties by teaching them through cooking.
She is also an Ambassador for an autistic children’s charity called NORSACA.

Anjula is not the only new addition to the line-up of chefs. Kevin Dundon, SuperValu’s Good Food Ambassador and head of Dunbrody House kitchens and cookery school, is also on the bill.
They join TOC regulars Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen, Gearoid Lynch, Adrian Martin and Shane Smith for the showcase at Cavan Equestrian Centre on August 7 and 8, with over 100 other exhibitors also taking stands.
You should really see a doctor
Meanwhile, new RTÉ medical series 'You Should Really See a Doctor’ has announced that it will also be at the Taste of Cavan on Saturday, August 8. If you would like the chance to be seen by Dr Pixie McKenna or Dr Phil Kieran, you can apply at www.rte.ie/tv/audienceparticipation/youshouldreallyseeadoctor.html
In this brand new series Pixie and Phil travel to popular events across the country with their pop-up clinic, offering on the spot consultations and health checks.
They are particularly interested in hearing from people who have researched their symptoms online and would like a real doctor’s advice.
