Man charged over Kells calls incident
A man is due to appear before court this morning charged with sending a woman receiving threatening and abusive messages.
Gardaí reported they had had arrested and charged the man, aged in his 30s, following complaints that a woman had received threatening and abusive messages, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, May 2, in Kells, Co. Meath.
The man was arrested under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
He was taken to Navan Garda Station where he has been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He was subsequently charged and willo appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (Court No. 2) tomorrow morning, Monday, May 4, at 10.30am.
“Investigations ongoing,” a garda spokesperson added.
