Reports of cold callers to local homes

Gardaí have received a number of reports of so-called “cold callers” arriving to local homes offering services.
Officers took to social media over the past week to highlight the potential threat of person calling to homes looking to power wash or to clean roofs.

They even advised telling those involved that you “don't employ cold callers” and that “you have someone that does your work for you”.
Gardaí add: “Do not open the door before you check who it is and what they want. Ensure your back door is locked if you are going to answer a knock to your front door. Do not hesitate in reporting suspicious people as genuine tradespeople will not mind us carrying out enquiries. Remember if in doubt - keep them out.”
