The Cavan Arts Festival, scheduled to take place in Cavan Town later this year is the latest major event to fall casualty of the Coronavirus crisis.
It was announced on Monday last, March 23, that the Cavan Arts Festival, which debuted in 2019, is also set to be postponed.
“We had a truly epic programme all set to gor for this May after a year of hard work by our team, but in the interest of public health we are postponing for now,” a spokesperson for the Cavan Arts Festival Team said in a message posted on social media.
They added their thanks meanwhile to artists, audiences, and supporters of the event to date, in particular Cavan Arts, the County Council, Creative Ireland, and the Arts Council, as well as many local businesses.
“Stay healthy and creative, mind each other and know this much for certain; when it is safe to come back, Cavan Arts festival will make your soul soar for joy, your face ache from laughing and your feet fall clean off from all the dancing in our streets.”
The message concludes: “Continue to follow us for updates and ways in which we can help and support artists through this challenging time.”
