€10M Percy French project to open in 2027

The Percy French Hotel project is due to be completed and opened by 2027, those gathered at the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District were told.

Cllr Trevor Smith (FG) sought an update on the work after some in the area raised questions and he expressed a desire to “keep people informed.”

He pointed out work was due to start last year.

Senior Executive Officer, John Donohoe, said detailed design had “just finished” and the local authority now needs to procure a construction team.

Change of emphasis

Mr Donohoe said the focus of the project has “changed a lot” with “more emphasis” on the community aspect as opposed to enterprise.

The investment on the project will be circa €10M, and therefore it “has to be done right”.

He told those gathered that they expect diggers to be “on site” by August or September of this year, and said it is hope that it will be completed by 2027.

Responding, Cllr Smith welcomed the update, agreeing that the “job has to be done right”.
