Medals and personal bests for talented Annalee Athletics Club runners

Annalee achieved an incredible result by claiming silverware for their relay team at the National Relays in TUS Athlone.

The Under 13 girls 4x200m team smashed their personal best time on the way to third place. In a thrillingly close race the quartet proudly, wearing the green and gold of Analee, held their composure to deservedly collect the bronze medal spot.

The talented relay team consisted of Amelia Keegan, Marianna Osojca, Annabell McDonagh, Ciara Gallaghar with sub Aisling Costello.

Three of these Annalee athletes - Marianna, Annabell and Amelia entered the National Relays off the back of impressive performances at the Juvenile Nationals at the same venue. While none of the trio medalled, each scored a PB in their respective competitions, Marianna and Annabell in the 600m, while Amelia achieved her best time at the sprint distance of 60m.

The Annalee coaching team regard these results in recent weeks as landmark performances in the sporting careers of the dedicated athletes.

They will train in the coming weeks with an eye on the Ulsters Outdoor scheduled for June 1, which signals the commencement of the outdoor season.

Training is on Easter break but will return after the school holidays.

Any parent/guardian is welcome to bring their child/children (aged from eight to 17) along to Annalee Athletics training at running track at the rear of Breffni Park, Cavan every Wednesday from 6.30-7.30pm.
