Bernard (Barney) Fleming

Corryholman, Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Bernard (Barney) Fleming, Corryholman, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, who passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on 17th April 2025, in his 89th year.

Predeceased by his wife Ann, his parents Benny and Margaret, his brother Eddie, his sisters Molly, Roseanne, Margaret & Janey. Deeply regretted by his daughter Martha, son Alex, son-in-law Gerry, grandchildren Conor, Noel, and Ben, sisters-in-law Frances and Teresa, and brother-in-law Raphie. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Hall Street, Kingscourt (A82 R3W2), on Saturday, 19th April, from 5pm to 8pm. Barney will be removed from his home on Sunday, 20th April, arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt at 7pm. Barney’s Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, 21st April, at 10am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

(née Smith)

Viewmount Park, Waterford City, Waterford / Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Died 17th April 2025

Predeceased by her husband Gerry

Much loved mother of John Paul and Alec. Will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Ingrid, Alec’s partner Sinead, grandsons Tom and his partner Maartje, Finn and his partner Chenelle, grandson Shane and granddaughter Aoibhe, her sisters-in-law Pauline and Helen, brother-in-law David, niece, nephews, extended family members, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, Waterford (X91 FW4A) on Monday 21st April from 9.30am, followed by removal to St. Joseph & St. Benildus Church, Newtown, Waterford for mass on arrival at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner, Waterford.

Fane Grove, Culloville, Armagh / Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Michéal Geoghegan, 8 Fane Grove, Culloville, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh. Former Proprietor of M. Geoghegan Victuallers, Castleblayney. Wednesday 16th April, peacefully in the care of staff at Craigavon Area Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Kathleen, brothers Thomas and Brian.

Deeply regretted by his heartbroken family, his devoted wife Eilish, daughter Siobhán (Paul) and son Aaron (Louise), his cherished grandchildren Líle, Killian, Caoileann, Lauren, Jake , Pippa and Bridget, his brothers Seamus, Paraic, Donal and Austin, sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Predeceased by her husband Micheal (Mickey), her parents Paddy and Mary Hanratty, brother Packie-Sean, sisters Phil, Ena and Dympna and niece Sharon.

The death has occurred of Benedict Doyle, 14 Beech Drive, Drumillard, Castleblayney, Monaghan. Retired Fire Chief of Castleblayney Fire Brigade. Thursday 17th April, peacefully in the care of staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Kathleen, brother’s Sean and Liam. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken family, his devoted wife Margaret, sons and daughters Patrick (Patrice) Theresa (Zaf), Benny (Christina) Noeleen (Pearse) Anthony (Janeen) and Stephen (Donna) his cherished grandchildren Eleanor, Mark, Omer, Zahra, Gareth, Leah, Oisin, Oran, Niamh, Tadgh and Gerard, brother Pat (Jenny), niece Kathleen extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Benedicts’s funeral cortège will leave from his home on Saturday Morning 19th April at 10.30am to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Castleblayney (via The Old Castleblayney Fire Station) for Funeral Liturgy at 11 am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of John Hamill, Killynenagh, Drum, Co Monaghan. Passed away peacefully on the 16th of April 2025 surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of his daughter and son-in-laws home.

Predeceased by his wife Susan (Sue) Hamill, sisters Jean and Doreen.

John will be sadly missed and fondly remembered with love by his loving family, his son Jimmy (Denise), daughter Fiona (Pat Coleman), cherished grandchildren Grace, Rebekah, Hannah and Bryan, great-grandsons, sister Edith Dixon (England) brother-in-law Henry Hall, sister-in-law Essie Gillespie, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Resting at his home Killynenagh, Drum, Co Monaghan on Thursday the 17th of April from 5pm - 8pm and on Friday the 18th of April from 3pm - 8pm.

Funeral cortege will leave his residence on Saturday the 19th of April at 13:30pm, to arrive at Drum Presbyterian Church, Drum, Co Monaghan (H16KR60) for funeral service at 2pm, followed by interment in adjoining graveyard.

It’s with great sadness that the family of Gerry Smyth, Main Street, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan (retired teacher of Our Lady’s Secondary School) announces the passing of Gerry at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, on Thursday April 17th surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Barney, brothers in-law Brian and Noel Duffy.

Gerry’s funeral cortège will proceed on foot from his late residence (Main Street, Castleblayney) on Monday morning at 11:30am to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for funeral mass at 12noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
