Design team sought for new psych ward investment
The HSE has issued tenders looking to appoint a design team to oversee the initial development of plans for a new proposed Acute Psychiatric Admissions Unit at Cavan General Hospital.
The project value could be worth as much as €60M in the long term, excluding VAT. The tender, advertised in a number of Lots, was first published last month. HSE Estates are looking to enter a ‘Multi-Party Agreement’ based on the most economically advantageous tender available. First up is architect with specialisms in planning and Building Information Modelling.
They are also looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor, Building Services Engineer, Civil/Structural Engineer, Fire Safety Consultancy, Project Supervisor Design Process, Employer Representative, an Energy Efficient Design Facilitator, and have an Assigned Certifier on board. Though the requirement has been identified for some time, the Celt understands the current proposals to develop a new proposed Acute Psychiatric Admissions Unit is still at a very early stage.
Meanwhile, plans to provide for a multi-million euro extension to the Emergency Department at Cavan General Hospital, as well as a new Endoscopy unit and 58 additional in-patient beds, are progressing.
Those projects were included in the HSE’s capital projects published last week.
