Bereavement notices for Cavan and Monaghan

It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Julia Moran

(née Leddy)

Killinam, Drumraney, Athlone, Westmeath / Corlismore, Cavan

Peacefully, after a long illness, in the Regional Hospital, Mullingar. Predeceased by her loving parents Thomas and Helen, brothers Mick, James and Vincent, and sisters Mary and Helen. Dearly loved by her husband Michael, cherished and adored by children Oliver, Michelle, Elaine (McLoughlin) and Tommy, daughter-in-law Lorraine (Browne), son-in-law Seamus (McLoughlin), Tommy's partner Saoirse, sister Nuala, brother-in-law Tommy (Hanlon), missed by grandchildren Dylan, Kyle, Holly, Leah and Lauren, nephews, nieces and extended family and neighbours.

May Julia's Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Reposing at Rooney's Funeral Home, Ballymore, Co. Westmeath (N91 FW90), on Wednesday (26th) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Thursday (27th) to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drumraney (N37 DW26), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Peter Smith

Newport, Tipperary / Cavan

Peter Smith of Newport, Co. Tipperary formerly of Cavan and South West London. Peacefully on March 21st 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved parents Patrick and Mary, and sister Nan. Cherished and much loved, Peter will be sadly missed by his loving partner Kathleen, his devoted children Patrick, Eddie, Aaron and Danielle (Byrne), his beloved grandchildren Conor and Sophie, brother Con, the extended Smith and Byrne family, neighbours and many great friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Newport on Thursday evening March 27th from 5.30 to 7 p.m. Arrival on Friday 28th to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Newport for Requiem Mass at 11:30 am, which can be viewed live here followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations if desired can be made to Parkinson’s Ireland.

John Connolly

Cloniston, Clones, Monaghan, H23 AE97

The death has occurred of John Connolly, Cloniston, Clones, Co. Monaghan, Tuesday 25th March 2025, suddenly, unexpectedly and peacefully in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Willie and Cassie and his father-in-law Jimmy.

Much loved husband of Celine and adored father of Lorraine (William Carey, Rochfortbridge) and Mark (Lorraine). John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, daughter, son, son-in-law, cherished grandchildren, Kate, Ava-Jane, Liam Óg and James, sisters, Mary(Brendan Devlin, and their daughters, Caroline and Alison),and Catherine, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, GAA family, work colleagues, neighbours, wide circle of friends and by all who knew and loved John.
