Gold medals for local students

Students from Cavan and Monaghan were among just four nationally to achieve the top score in the 2022 Junior Certificate business exam.

Cian McCrystal from St. Patrick’s College, Cavan and Darcy Walker from St Louis Secondary School, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan were awarded gold medals for their outstanding achievements in the exam between 2022–2024.

The winners received their medals and certificates as part of the Business Studies Teachers’ Association of Ireland (BSTAI) Achievement Awards, hosted by Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI) at their offices on Molesworth Street, Dublin. The awards recognise the top scoring students nationally in Business Studies at Junior Certificate level.

The medals were presented by Susan Russell, BPFI President and Chief Executive of the Retail Ireland division of Bank of Ireland Group and Ciara O’Riordan, Honorary President, BSTAI.
