Six to eight lanes in line for LIS fix in 2025
Approximately six to eight rural laneways could be mended this year, subject to budget, but the list remains more than seven years behind.
Cavan County Council has been notified of this year’s Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) allocation of €519,476, however the local authority says it “has not, as yet”, seen this year’s scheme outline.
The council is currently working on mostly 2017 applications, of which there are 23, but there is also a small number of older applications with documentation outstanding.
The list of lanes for grant approval is not finalised until the current scheme criteria for eligibility is received.
“All assessed lanes must be priced on this year’s tender prices, however it can be expected that approximately six to eight lanes will be completed this year, subject to assessment as noted,” stated a spokesperson for Cavan County Council.
