Council renews €10M housing loan

Local councillors have approved a €10M housing loan from the Housing Finance Agency.

The drawdown facility, a renewal of a loan facility previously approved in April 2019, is in place so that Cavan County Council is in a position to drawdown any housing loans to be issued “when required”.

All housing projects are 100% funded by the Department, and approval was given at the last monthly meeting of Cavan County Council.

“This is a resolution that is in place so that Cavan County Council is in a position to drawdown any housing loans to be issued, when required,” confirmed a spokesperson for the local authority.

“The last resolution Cavan County Council had in this regard was on the 8th of April, 2019, and this resolution was simply a renewal of same.”
