The same great care at Jameson’s
Jamesons totalhealth Pharmacy in Bailieborough has changed hands, however new Supervising Pharmacist Joy Jameson is keen to let customers know that it’s business as usual at the pharmacy.
Aside from the hire of a few new local faces, Brian O’Donoghue’s purchase of the pharmacy will see it remain “independently owned, community based and a family led pharmacy.”
With totalhealth pharmacies in Virginia and Ballyjamesduff also, Brian is a third generation pharmacist, with his grandfather setting up O’Donoghue’s totalhealth Pharmacy in Virginia in 1912.
“Staff will be remaining and we actually have hired a couple of local faces who people will be familiar with,” Joy confirmed.
“We will continue to hold the key values of Jamesons which are to remain patient centred and provide the highest level of patient care, to be the heart of the community, to provide personalised service with a smile, to go above and beyond for our customers and ensure the highest quality of care.”
Joy Jameson is the new Supervising Pharmacist behind it all, and she looks forward to welcoming customers and taking care of their health needs. She began working on the field when she was 16, completing her Transition Year work placement in a local pharmacy, and has since went on to work around the country gaining experience and “a wealth of knowledge” which she hopes to bring to Jamesons.
“Pharmacists are the most accessible health care professionals and take time to connect and consult with each patient we serve, we are front line and highly knowledgeable medication experts who are connected to and care about the local community,” she says, describing her admiration for the profession.
Joy does have family ties to the pharmacy, as she explains her grandfather and Mr Jameson “as he was known” were first cousins.
The pharmacy is renowned in the area for their patient care.
“We have the best advisors here, my staff are all trained in healthcare” she assured.
“If anyone needs any advice, come on in,” she urged, adding that they are “well known” for their advice, patient care, their continuity and commitment to aftercare.
“We take time with every single person, you’re not just given your medication and hushed out the door.
“Any patient starting a new medication, you will see either pharmacist Joy or Helen to explain what you’re taking to make sure that you’re comfortable with it.
“Health care is our number one,” she said, adding that they are known for being “an ear to listen.”
