Three to appear in court on serious assault charges

Three people arrested in relation to a serious assault in Monaghan are to appear in Cavan District Court this morning.

A man in his 40s sustained what was described as "life-threatening injuries" in an attack in the Park Road area between 10-11pm on Tuesday night, January 14.

The victim remains in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where his condition was described as critical.

Two men and one woman, all aged in their 20s, have all been charged.

All three are expected to appear before Cavan District Court at 10.30am this morning, Friday, January 17.
