N3 reopens following Wednesday's crash
N3 at Lisgrey will remain closed until tomorrow afternoon; woman in her 70s airlifted to hospital
The N3 has reopened following serious injury road traffic collision in at Lisgrey near Virginia on Wednesday afternoon, January 8, which left one woman in a critical condition in hospital.
The two vehicle accident occurred at approximately 1:10pm.
The passenger of one car, a woman aged in her 70s, was brought by air ambulance to the Mater Hospital, Dublin. She remains in a critical condition.
The occupant of the second car was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene was subsequently preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and diversions were put in place.
Gardaí meanwhile are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
Additionally, road users travelling on the N3 between The Lavey Inn and Virginia between 12:45pm and 1:15pm and who may have camera footage (including dashcam recordings) are asked to make them available to gardaí.
