Louise Smith, Anna Smith and Caroline O’Reilly from Farnham Financial SHEILA MARIE ROONEY PHOTOGRAPHYLocal Enterprise Office Cavan and Cavan Women in Business Network (CWBN) hosted the much-anticipated Christmas celebration on December 4, bringing together over 80 inspiring women in business at Hotel Kilmore, Cavan. The evening was a vibrant showcase of local talent, creativity, and community spirit, with attendees enjoying networking opportunities, a Christmas fair featuring unique handcrafted gifts, and insightful speeches from two local female entrepreneurs.
Keynote speakers included Ruth King, Director of CICS SiloClean Ltd, who shared her family business journey and insights into the power of customer service, fresh from winning a number of awards recently including the 'Best in Customer Service' award at The Anglo-Celt Business Awards and the 'Innovative Family Business of the Year 2024' at the Irish Family Business Awards 2024 held in November this year.
Sandra Coote, founder of Crafts of Ireland, inspired attendees with her business story of their remarkable enterprise dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of traditional skills and crafts. Sandra also gave a live demonstration of her needle-felting techniques.
Tara McGovern, Business Advisor with Local Enterprise Office Cavan, highlighted resources available to business owners.
The Christmas Fair of 10 local businesses featured exceptional craftsmanship, including dried floral designs, bespoke jewellery, original art, and culinary delights from CWBN members.
Tara McGovern, Business Advisor, LEO Cavan said; "This event is a celebration of the incredible women who make up the Cavan Women in Business Network and the unique contributions they bring to our community. Tonight was about coming together to support, inspire, and celebrate together."
After browsing the Christmas Fair, and hearing from the speakers, the guests enjoyed a delicious Christmas buffet dinner while Master of Ceremonies Margaret McKeon-Boyle ensured the event ran smoothly.
The Cavan Women in Business Network, supported by the Local Enterprise Office Cavan, is dedicated to fostering growth, networking, and success among women-led businesses in the region. They are currently welcoming new members.
