Betty Denning

(née Fitzgerald)

Ennervarogue, Bailieborough, Cavan

Betty Denning (nee Fitzgerald), Ennevarogue, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, died on the 18th December, 2024, peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a short illness at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Tilly and Noel.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Kevin, all the Fitzgerald and Denning families, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Friday 20th December from 5pm - 7pm. Removal on Saturday from her residence to arrive at Virginia Parish Church for Funeral Service at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Ultan's Graveyard, Killinkere.

Kieran Donohoe

Main Street, Ballyconnell, Cavan

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kieran Donohoe who died on Thursday December 19th 2024 surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the intensive care unit at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents John & Josie.

Kieran will be sadly missed by his family, Brendan(Edel), Elizabeth(Pat), Padraic, Martina(Gerry), Fr. Kevin, Shelia(Damien), nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family, work colleagues at Boxmore plastics & a wide circle of neighbours & close friends.

May he rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lawlor's Funeral Home, Erne Hill, Belturbet on Saturday, December 21st, from 5 o'clock until 8 o'clock.

Mass of the resurrection on Sunday, December 22nd in Our Lady of Lourdes church, Ballyconnell at 2 o'clock followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sean Prior

Muineal, Corlough, Cavan

The death has occurred of Sean Prior, Muineal, Corlough, Co. Cavan. Peacefully on the 19th December 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Sean will be forever missed by his beloved wife Breege, children Antoinette (Enda), Joseph (Fiona), Róisín (David) and Peter (Cliona), his much loved grandchildren Rose, Pippa, Leo, Emma and Ruadhán, his brothers Cathal, Brendan, Cyril, Oliver and Anthony, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, all extended family and wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Sean will repose at the family home on Friday, the 20th of December, from 5pm-8pm. There will be a shuttle bus service running from Corlough Gaa pitch. House private at all other times except for family, close friends and neighbours. Removal from his home on Saturday morning to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Corlough for Funeral Mass at 12noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Bernard (Bennie) Hughes

Lisaginny, Castleshane, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Bernard (Bennie) Hughes, Lisaginny, Castleshane, Monaghan. Wednesday December 18th unexpectedly at his residence.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary, brothers James, Patrick and Sean, sister Maura McCahey.

Bennie, deeply regretted and remembered with love by his family, wife Anna, sons Brian and Gary, daughters in-law Laura and Caitlín, his two cherished granddaughters Aisling and Éilish, sister in-law Rita Morris, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Bennie will repose at Wards Funeral Home Ballybay (A75H585) tomorrow, Friday afternoon, from 4pm until 8pm. Bennie’s funeral cortège will travel from his home (Lisaginny) on Saturday morning at 10:40am to arrive St Mary’s Church, Clontibret for funeral mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, and house private by request please.

Seán MCQUAID

Gaybrook, Mullingar, Westmeath / Emyvale, Monaghan

Séan MCQUAID, Harkaway House, Gaybrook, Mullingar, formerly of Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, December 18, 2024 (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff at St. Bridget's Ward, Clúain Lir Care Centre; pre-deceased by his parents John and Margaret, brother James, sisters Patricia (Daly) and Verona (Naughton). Sean will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Hilda, daughters Monica, Hilda (Lyon), Elaine (Christie), sons James and John, adored grandchildren Sonny, Lydia, Harvey and Martha, Sean's twin brother Brendan, sister Monica (Gaynor), sons-in-law Paul and Terry, daughters-in-law Noi and Natalie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Shaws Funeral Home, Bishopsgate St., Mullingar on Friday December 20, from 4.00 o'c. concluding with prayers at 6.00 o'c. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11.00 o'c. In the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar, followed by burial in Walshestown Cemetery. Seán's Mass can be seen on the live webcam here.

Carmel Wright

(née Holland)

Clones, Monaghan / Newbliss, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Carmel Wright, SRN nee Holland, Walton Liverpool / Monaghan. Peacefully on Tuesday 10th December in the care of Aintree Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jim Wright, her parents Anne and Christopher (Christy) Holland, brother Tony Holland, sisters Nancy Kirwan and Theresa Healy. Sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Anne, Carmel and Mary, Son in Law Andy McColl and Grandson Mitchell (Mitch), Carmel will be remembered with love by her nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
