2025 launch for parking app

A planned parking app to compliment recent upgrades to pay facilities in Cavan Town is expected to get its launch sometime in the New Year.

Twenty new parking meters were installed in the Cavan Town area last year, with work taking place behind the scenes to develop an accompanying online cashless payment system.

It had been hoped the new payment system would be in place shortly following the installation of the new pay-and-display machines. A spokesperson for the council confirmed to the Celt: “It's expected the parking app for Cavan Town will now be launched in 2025.”

They further stated that there are “no plans at present” to expand the parking meter upgrade beyond Cavan Town.
